Enthusiasm for the task at hand is what inspires Jennifer. “I see opportunities for growth and development within myself and for Smith as an organization every day,” she said.
As Director of Global Sales, Jennifer puts more than 25 years of experience and inspiration into action. Her goal is to give Smith a competitive advantage by continuing to look for ways to maximize the company’s broad offerings.
“We have so much talent at every level that we should be asking ourselves how we can create a system that yields the most opportunities that will return the maximum benefit for Smith’s customers by bringing out each individual’s most impactful abilities,” Jennifer said.
Beyond that, she is focused on making sure that Smith’s diverse trading force continues to lead the industry with critical market information and that they are out in front of new engagement tools that customers want to use.
“Smith is not a thing; it is its people,” Jennifer said. “Watching people develop into difference-makers for Smith after taking advantage of information and opportunities we helped facilitate is so rewarding.”
Jennifer has been with Smith since 1994, joining immediately after her graduation from Texas A&M University. She started as an international sales rep before being promoted first to Training Manager and then to Trading Floor Manager. In 2004, she became the Director of Trading Operations before being named Trader Development Manager in 2007. She stepped into her current role in 2021.
