Renato will support and develop Smith’s key accounts worldwide
Houston, TX (July 31, 2023) – Smith, a leading global distributor of semiconductors and electronic components, today announces the appointment of Renato Souza to the position of Vice President of Global Business Development. In this role, Renato will work closely with the company’s global Trading department to manage strategic opportunities and challenges and facilitate customer-account collaboration.
“The connections we create within the semiconductor supply chain are a critical component of our business success and underpin the deep market knowledge that informs our corporate strategy,” said Renato. “I am excited to work alongside the greater Business Development team to showcase Smith’s agile supply chain solutions and essential value-add services to our strategic global customer base.”
Renato originally joined Smith in 2001 as an Account Manager and was then promoted to Assistant General Manager. After stepping away for a few years to work in a business-development role for a major contract manufacturer, he rejoined Smith in 2017 as Vice President, Latin America, driving significant growth in our Guadalajara office.
In 2020, Renato was named to his most recent position of Vice President of Business Development. His previous experience growing major global accounts and facilitating cross-cultural business relationships will be instrumental in his role.
“Renato’s dedication to building trust and communication across our worldwide Trading team is a critical asset that will support our efforts to capture new business opportunities,” said Todd Burke, President of Global Business Development at Smith. “I look forward to seeing him continue to drive internal collaboration and global-customer team structures to facilitate Smith’s long-term growth.”
