Inc. 5000 Series: Texas recognizes Smith in its first-ever regional honorees list
Houston, TX (March 13, 2020) – Smith, a global distributor of electronic components and provider of custom supply chain services, today announces that it has been ranked number 154 on the Inc. 5000 Series: Texas list. Based on revenue growth between 2016 and 2018, the inaugural list ranks the most successful companies within the Texas economy’s most dynamic segment – its independent small businesses.
“Even though this is a regional list, the recognition was earned from the hard work and dedication of all our employees worldwide,” said Mark Bollinger, Smith’s Chief Globalization Officer. “Smith looks forward to continued growth in our home state and beyond.”
During the two-year period, Smith grew by 104.94 percent, while the broader Texas economy grew by just 10 percent. Smith earned revenues of $810 million in 2016 and $1.66 billion in 2018. Helping customers navigate supply chain disruptions and expanding its global services contributed to Smith’s overall revenue gains.
Complete results of the Inc. 5000 Series: Texas, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, metro area, and other criteria, can be found at https://www.inc.com/inc5000-series-texas-2020.html?icid=hmhero.
“The companies on this list demonstrate just how much the small-business sector impacts Texas’s economy,” said Inc. Magazine editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “Across every single industry, these businesses have posted revenue and growth rates that are beyond impressive, further proving the tenacity of their founders and CEOs.”
