Last month, team members from Smith’s Seoul office came together to participate in a plogging event. Originating in Sweden, “plogging” is the act of picking up litter while jogging. Employees trotted around Seonjeongneung and spruced up the burial site, located in the Gangnam-gu district of Seoul. The group of twelve collected leaves and picked up trash around the area.
Seonjeongneung, named after the ninth ruler of the Joseon dynasty of Korea, serves as a landmark for the local community and commemorates King Seongjong, King Jungjong, and Queen Jeonghyeon. The site was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009 for its historical significance.
“Our colleagues and families had such a fun and rewarding time at the event,” said Minji Hong, President, APAC. “Working together to serve our community has helped us to make a real impact and brought us all closer together.”
