New leadership and resources offer broader scale and more partner benefits in Smith’s growing ITAD program
Houston, TX (May 10, 2019) – Smith, a global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, announces the expansion of the company’s IT asset disposition program. Dedicated leadership and investment in new resources provide the company a strong foundation to address customers’ diverse challenges and provide multifaceted options for comprehensive ITAD support.
Smith’s ITAD program is geared to help the company’s global partners achieve their IT asset disposition goals. Anticipating customers’ evolving needs, Smith has placed a focus on growing the scale of this program with the adoption of new, dedicated program leadership and further-reaching capabilities.
In 2018, Smith appointed Edward Wooten as Director of ITAD to spearhead this expansion. Since he took on the role, Wooten has leveraged his years of experience in the ITAD sphere and Smith’s strong foundation to create new initiatives, capabilities, and offerings.
“Smith’s global presence, extensive experience, and trusted reputation have been the bedrock of our new ITAD strategy, allowing us to reinvent the options we can offer our customers,” said Wooten.
Smith has seen customers’ needs for skilled help with their disposition challenges grow over the years, and these challenges now call for a sophisticated range of options to deal with often-complex situations. Smith’s ITAD division addresses issues such as secure data destruction and value recovery for disposed parts to help partners achieve maximum ROI. Under Wooten’s leadership, Smith’s ITAD division has also built upon its mobile data sanitization services with the acquisition of two self-contained shred trucks that can flexibly meet ITAD customers’ disposition needs.
“Building our fleet with these new trucks enables us to provide more optimal support to our customers by meeting them where, when, and in whatever capacity they need us,” said Wooten.
“As demands for ITAD solutions continue to grow and change, we’ll keep adapting to offer the strongest and most flexible disposition support,” he continued. “Together, we’ll combine Smith’s Intelligent Distribution™ with Intelligent ITAD™ to bring additional world-class services to our current and future customers.”
