Todd will build and develop the company’s relationships with strategic accounts and customers
Houston, TX (July 17, 2023) – Smith, a leading global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, today announces the appointment of Todd Burke to the position of President of Global Business Development. In this role, Todd will support the company’s Trading department in managing key opportunities and facilitate customer-account collaboration among its global offices.
“During the global semiconductor shortages that we experienced over the last two years, Smith had the opportunity to expand our presence in many new and thriving markets,” said Todd. “As these shortages wind down, I look forward to diligently developing and growing these new relationships so that we can continue to offer the premier support they have come to expect from the world’s leading independent distributor.”
Todd joined Smith in 1996 and has held a variety of sales and management roles during his tenure. He was named Vice President of Business Development in 2016 and to his most recent position of President, Americas in 2019. Over the years, Todd has worked to develop strong and genuine relationships with Smith’s customers, which will be instrumental in this new role.
“Todd represents all the best attributes that make Smith a leader in the industry,” said Marc Barnhill, Chief Executive Officer at Smith. “His ability to create sincere connections with his colleagues and Smith’s customers and his willingness to take on any challenge put in front of him will position him for success, and I am confident he will be a driving force in our future growth.”
