Smith upholds additional standards for safety and reliability
Houston, TX (March 23, 2023) – Smith, a leading global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, today announces its certification to the AS9120 standard at its warehouses in Amsterdam and Hong Kong. AS9120 is an SAE aerospace standard that recognizes Smith’s additional qualifications within its quality-management system to meet the rigorous demands of the aerospace industry.
Smith’s flagship distribution center in Houston has been certified to AS9120 since 2012. Achieving this certification at two additional operational hubs further demonstrates the company’s ability to deliver products and services of the highest quality that adhere to the stringent requirements of aerospace customers and applicable regulations.
“Our aerospace and defense customers around the world rely on us for critical components that uphold the quality and safety of their equipment,” said Kirk Wehby, Chief Operating Officer. “Smith’s AS9120 certification at our distribution centers in Hong Kong and Amsterdam validates our commitment to providing authentic, high-quality parts that meet the exacting standards required in these high-risk industries.”
