Smith earns validation of its ability to meet medical-industry requirements
Houston, TX (July 10, 2018) – Smith, a global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, announces its certification to the ISO 13485 standard. This certification recognizes Smith’s capability to supply components that consistently meet the medical industry’s intensive demands and requirements.
The ISO 13485 certification defines standards for organizations that provide medical devices and related product or services, in line with customer and regulatory requirements. This focus on reliable quality reflects Smith’s dedication and ability to support customers across industries with the most vigorous specifications and standards.
“People’s health and wellness depend on the care and technology that our partners in the medical industry provide them,” said Kirk Wehby, Smith’s Chief Operating Officer. “It’s always our commitment to provide unflagging quality, but the stakes are even higher in supporting our medical-industry partners. Smith’s ISO 13485 certification reflects our commitment to rising to – and exceeding – this level of requirements.”
“The ISO 13485 certification also provides Smith an even more vigorous framework that informs our sourcing and operations,” continued Wehby. “We look forward to seeing how this can bolster our ability to support and empower partners in this industry.”
