Renato Souza

Vice President of Global Business Development

Growth and collaboration—these are the key elements that inspire and drive Renato in his role as Smith’s Vice President of Global Business Development.

Renato is working to continually support Smith’s growth path and market-leader position. He does so with an emphasis on building strong partnerships between Smith’s global sales teams, leading by example.

“I want to always be seen as an available resource who can be counted on to support others within our organization,” Renato said.

Currently, his top priority is expanding Smith’s AVL presence with leading global OEM and CEM customers.

“We want Smith to become the trusted strategic partner to every OEM and CEM customer in all major electronics clusters in Latin America,” Renato said.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Renato is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder, and his MBA from the University of South Carolina.

Outside of the office, Renato enjoys going to the beach and going skiing with his wife and two children.

“Two things inspire me the most: knowing that my family is happy and that they are proud of my career and achievements,” Renato said, “and that our employees are happy and can provide a better future for their loved ones.”

I want to always be seen as an available resource who can be counted on to support others within our organization.
