Smith employees worldwide donate $1,800 to help children in need
Last month, employees from Smith’s Amsterdam office participated in the Haarlem Grachtenloop 5K to raise money for Make-A-Wish Nederland.
“It was a great experience participating in the event in the beautiful canal city of Haarlem while live music was playing, and children and families were cheering for a good cause,” said Sandra Francoulon, Corporate Recruiter at Smith.
For 30 years, Make-A-Wish Nederland has been fulfilling the wishes of children with critical illnesses, thanks to the generosity of donors and volunteers. Andre Lake, European Purchasing Manager, said the event was very well-organized, and the weather was favorable to the runners.
“It was exciting to see so many people coming together for charity and to have some first-time Smith runners overcoming the 5k distance successfully,” Andre said.
Smith offices around the world are proud to be part of the Make-A-Wish foundation’s endeavors this year, donating more than €1,600 ($1,800) to the organization.
Winnie Atutubo, Electronic Component Inspector, loved seeing people making a difference: “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.”
We want to thank everyone who participated in the run, came to cheer, and made donations to help make children’s wishes come true.
