Marc Barnhill Named Chief Executive Officer of Smith

Marc will lead the company’s global business operations and corporate strategy

Houston, TX (July 12, 2023) – Smith, a leading global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, today announces the appointment of Marc Barnhill to the position of Chief Executive Officer. As Smith’s first CEO, Marc will oversee all aspects of the company’s business and direction. This new structure will facilitate Smith’s future growth, allowing the company to continue to expand its resources, capabilities, and footprint worldwide.

Marc began his career at Smith in 1990 as a purchasing agent before being named President of Broker Sales two years later. In 1996, he was named Vice President of Trading and took on his most recent role of Chief Trading Officer in 2007.

Today, the company has locations in 19 cities around the world—with plans for further expansion—and announced record-breaking revenues in 2022.
