Smith’s Houston Team Builds Tables With the Houston ToolBank

Last month, more than two dozen Smith employees rolled up their sleeves to help build picnic tables at the Houston ToolBank’s Tools for Change event!

The ToolBank serves community-based organizations around the Greater Houston area by providing low-cost tools, equipment, and expertise for projects across Southeast Texas, giving local nonprofits access to the resources they need to serve the people of Houston and build the city up. The Houston ToolBank’s annual Tools for Change event brings people from the community together to help give back to local schools and organizations.

Twenty-five members of our Houston team gathered for a fun day of carpentry, axe throwing, a scavenger hunt, and lunch, all in celebration of a great cause. The finished picnic tables will be installed in the Kayla Bear Foundation’s gardens to support their food-insecurity initiatives.

“Tools for Change was absolutely amazing: supporting a great cause with great people and having a great time,” said Zander Hatch, Marketing Content Editor at Smith. “It’s always wonderful to get out into the community and support organizations like the Houston ToolBank that do so much good.”
