Smith’s temperature coefficient testing confirms compliance to known component standards.
Smith delivers quality our customers around the world can trust, no matter what components they’re seeking or what disruptions the global electronics supply chain is experiencing. But what steps go into this quality assurance?
In our new series Delivering Quality – Behind the Scenes, we’ll offer an inside look at the steps our quality control and inspection teams take to make sure every component we ship is examined, tested, and vetted so our customers receive only the best from Smith.
(Learn more about our in-house authenticity testing options in our most recent video: Decapsulation Authenticity Testing: Delivering Quality – Behind the Scenes.)
In-House Authenticity Testing You Can Trust
Especially during times of shortage, when scrambling for components can lead manufacturers to turn to questionable sources, quality testing and assurance are paramount.
While the current shortage climate is unprecedented and shows no signs of abating across industries, Smith has specialized in navigating diverse supply chain disruptions since our founding in 1984. Procuring the components our global partners need, when they need them, is what we built our business on, and we’ve continually grown over the years to anticipate and exceed our customers’ needs.
In 2000, we began offering in-house component testing support, and we have only expanded from there, with the establishment of our anticounterfeit-testing laboratory in 2010 and mirrored resources and capabilities at our Amsterdam and Hong Kong operational hubs in the years that followed. Today, we offer a full spectrum of functionality and authenticity tests across our global operational hubs.
Smith’s temperature coefficient testing works alongside our other authenticity tests to offer precise measuring and confirmation of electronic components and their reliability and authenticity.
Temperature Testing Solutions
The low/high temperature testing offered through this authenticity test option puts devices, boards, and modules through the paces – including thermal shock – to confirm their adherence to known component standards. This testing uses innovative temperature forcing to determine devices’ resistance to extreme heat, cold, and humidity to confirm that they fit the expected qualifications for their component type.
A Range of Applications
Temperature coefficient testing offers confirmation for a wide range of applications. From its common application in semiconductor testing to PCB inspection and overarching device characterization, this test provides a range of results to prove that parts are authentic and meet qualification standards.
Confirmation to Known Standards
Our temperature coefficient testing uses sophisticated methods to place components under temperature conditions that help us verify their adherence to known qualifiers and traits.
This test takes its place among the others in Smith’s broad suite of anticounterfeit testing, offering reliable confirmation that parts are authentic, top quality, and ready to put into immediate use on your bill of materials.
