Phyllis is overseeing a large-scale rollout that features more system functions to help Smith improve efficiency, respond more quickly, and increase productivity during this unprecedented global and market situation. In addition to leading these system solutions for internal organization, Phyllis also directs Smith’s IT team on solutions to directly support our customers’ needs through the Smith Order Management app.
In the last few years, Phyllis also organized a solution team to build a proprietary system to meet the unique business needs of data centers and hyperscalers. The resulting, patent-pending solution has helped many large, well-known enterprises solve even the most complex challenges.
“The only way to stay competitive is to learn and change,” Phyllis said. “Through system solutions, we can analyze the information further, so we not only know ourselves better, but we are also able to prepare ahead of time to handle different types of customer needs. And that’s how Smith attracts more customers day by day.”
Phyllis joined Smith in 1999 and was appointed CIO in 2010. Before joining Smith, Phyllis gained extensive system management and development experience across multiple industries with U.S.- and China-based companies. She earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in Nanjing, China.
When she’s not streamlining Smith’s technological systems, Phyllis tackles some different challenges: yoga and Pilates.
