So far, none of the worst-case outlooks for the supply chain have occurred in the wake of last week’s earthquake in Kumamoto. Most major semiconductor facilities have resumed operations or announced their restart timelines, with TSMC’s JASM fab returning to normal production on August 3. While impacts on semiconductor production and distribution appear largely contained, automotive manufacturers continue to face restart delays as suppliers and logistics networks recover from the disruption.
