In our new series Delivering Quality – Behind the Scenes, we’ll offer an inside look at the steps our quality control and inspection teams take to make sure every component we ship is examined, tested, and vetted so our customers receive only the best from Smith.

From our testing facilities and ESD compliance to our supplier qualification practices, Smith is committed to quality in every aspect of our business. We have offered in-house quality support and testing since 2000, and we have only grown our QC foundations further since then. 

Over the years, we have honed our best practices and continually deepened our expertise to build a comprehensive quality strategy that allows Smith to deliver precise, high-quality support and service to every customer, on every order. 

The Front End of Quality Assurance

We take steps to ensure quality before product even enters our warehouses. Procurement is the vital first step in ensuring the integrity of components, and this begins with careful and conscientious supplier screening.

Each vendor Smith works with is stringently vetted and continually reevaluated. All of these steps have helped us build a global supplier network over the years that is diverse, trustworthy, and reliable to deliver the product our customers need.

Systems-Based Processes and Procedures

Smith continually invests in IT advancements to support our product and service quality – whether this is utilizing industry-best software or developing customized, automated systems in house that track and monitor movement of materials. We take strides to remain at the forefront of infrastructural excellence to support our overall excellence.
