HOUSTON, TX (November 7, 2024) – Smith, a leading global distributor of electronic components and semiconductors, today announces that it has been named Outstanding Performance Component Distributor: Automotive Electronics at the AspenCore 2024 Global Electronic Component Distributor Awards. The event is held during the annual International Integrated Circuit (IIC) Exhibition and Conference in Shenzhen, China.
The honors spotlight global distributors that have distinguished themselves and earned high visibility in the Chinese automotive market by providing products and services in the region. Recipients also demonstrate superior business management and customer satisfaction. This is Smith’s first time earning the award for Outstanding Component Distributor: Automotive Electronics.
“This achievement underscores Smith’s strategic positioning in the Asian automotive market, highlighting our ability to deliver exceptional value and innovative solutions in an everchanging technological landscape,” said Kent Pang, President, APAC at Smith. “Our journey is about partnership and resilience, and, for 40 years, we’ve transformed supply chain challenges into opportunities for our clients.”
Additionally, Rocky Xu, Vice President of Global Purchasing, presented at this year’s Global Distribution & Supply Chain Leaders Summit during the IIC conference, where he discussed ways to improve supply chain efficiency in an excess market and how companies can identify and leverage cost-saving opportunities.
“The global electronics ecosystem is vast, varied, and complex,” Rocky noted. “Each organization within the industry has its own unique set of goals and challenges, which come with their own sets of requirements and constraints. Excess markets are the ideal time to evaluate processes, partners, and long-term procurement strategies, and it is important to use this time wisely to ensure continued success through future market conditions.”
Smith also participated in the IIC exhibition, where onsite staff had the opportunity to showcase the company’s sophisticated procurement support, stringent quality program, and fully customizable supply chain solutions.
“For four decades, we’ve been more than a distributor. We collaborate with manufacturers to navigate supply chain complexities with expertise and precision,” said Mark Bollinger, Smith’s Chief Globalization Officer. “This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and our ability to anticipate and exceed the evolving needs of our global partners.”
