Smith Achieves Global ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification
The company’s commitment to information security has been confirmed
Over the years, we’ve engineered our growth to anticipate and fully address customers’ continually evolving needs.
Best practices for quality in the global electronic-component supply chain have changed immeasurably since Smith’s founding in 1984. In those early days of the burgeoning computing industry, quality manifested in precision to customers’ specifications and careful procurement strategies to ensure product was coming from trusted sources.
As the industry grew more sophisticated, though, so did the techniques of opportunistic players within the supply chain. As counterfeiting and other sourcing pitfalls grew more widespread, Smith realized how vital it was to grow to meet – and exceed – customers’ needs for more thorough, comprehensive quality assurance. We began adopting industry best practices for quality and investing extensively in new facilities, equipment, certifications, training, and more.
The rest is history:
Where We Are Today
After more than 38 years in the global electronics industry, we have built a global quality program – supported by the pillars of our 4Cs framework – that delivers the highest caliber of electronic components to our customers worldwide. From our leading functional and authenticity testing and expansive facilities to our third-party certifications and expert team of inspectors and engineers, we are dedicated to delivering you only the best products and services.
Looking to the Future
Last month, Smith opened our new global services hub in Houston, which offers an extra 30,000 square feet of space – and new equipment – to devote to IT asset disposition. We will also be opening a new distribution center in Singapore later this year, adding 20,000 square feet of space to provide greater support to our growing presence in Asia and worldwide.
In every element of our business – from procurement and product handling to testing and service programs – we are committed to quality and will continually improve so that we can offer our customers the highest level of sourcing and service.
